Podcast giant and UFC commentator Joe Rogan is a fitness junkie. Fittingly, the studio where he records his uber-popular Joe Rogan Experience show has an epic gym setup. There’s plenty of space, after all, since the podcast headquarters is actually a 14,000 square foot warehouse.
To make use of all that square footage, Rogan has created a private gym, complete with a fully functioning combat sports area for kickboxing and jiu-jitsu training. From strength training to flexibility training to high-level recovery equipment you’d likely find in an upscale fitness club (like a sauna), his facility is fully loaded with everything a gym rat could want.
In a JRE Library post, the dedicated Rogan-ites behind the site attempted to document all of the fitness equipment he uses, from machines, cardio gear, and accessories, all of which make up his formidable fitness facility. (They note that Rogan revealed that the strength and conditioning side of the JRE gym was set up by Rogue Fitness.)
We picked a few of the choicest pieces (and did some Instagram and YouTube snooping of our own to check out some of the gear) to highlight the parts of the facility that might even fit into your own home gym, space permitting.

Of course, Rogan’s big rig is set up with pretty much every accessory you can think of to handle other exercises. The list includes:
Weight Bench
Rogan uses the solid Rogue AB-3 Bench, which has adjustable seat and back pads, as well as a removable foot catch, and wheels for easy transport across the gym floor.
Dumbbells
Dumbbells are a must for any gym, whether you have a single pair of adjustable set or a whole wall full of rubberized hex bells. Unsurprisingly Rogan also has a sweet setup, ranging from 5 to 125 pounds. He uses the Rogue Rubber Hex Dumbbells, which are stored on a Rogue storage rack.
Kettlebells
Rogan is proponent of all kinds of training protocols, most particularly those that focus on building functional strength. He uses tools like kettlebells on the reg to step out of the more traditional world of strength and conditioning to bring real-world movement to his workouts.
“What I like best about kettlebells is, especially in jiu jitsu, I see a direct relationship between the work that I put in lifting kettlebells and my performance on the mat,” Rogan said in a YouTube video highlighting some of his favorite tools from Onnit.

Rogan’s gym is outfitted with both competition kettlebells from Rogue and the primate-sculpted Primal Bells from Onnit.
Barbells
Rogan talked about barbells during JRE episode #1399 with Pavel Tsatsouline, in which they talked up the implement’s status as the best tool to maximize muscle mass.

Rogan has multiple Ohio Bars from Rogue, one of the most popular general-use barbells around.
Barbell Plates
Rogan also uses Rogue’s barbell bumper plates for squats, bench press, overhead presses, deadlifts—basically, just about everything he does with a barbell. He stores them on the Rogue 3-Tier Mass Storage System.
Clubs and Maces
“There are a lot of ancient training methods that fell out of favor, but have now come back again,” Rogan said in a YouTube video highlighting some of his favorite clubs and maces from Onnit.
Rogan has the full set of Onnit Steel Clubs in pairs of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35 and 45 pounds.
Medicine Balls
Rogan has Rogue’s 10, 14 and 20 pound medicine balls, which are stored on the Rogue 3-Tier Mass Storage System.
Resistance Bands
Rogan is a fan of resistance bands, especially for shoulder training. He talked about his love for them with Bill Burr during JRE episode #1491.
“I do a whole series of exercises with my shoulders. It’s great… you’re not really pushing the same as weights,” says Rogan. “

He uses Rogue Crossover Cords for his work in the gym.
Glute-Ham Machine
Rogan uses his glute-ham machine to strengthen his legs with glute-ham raises (GHR). He uses the Rogue Abram GHD 2.0 in his fitness setup.
Pulley Machine
Here’s where we reach the line that separates the standard home gym gear with the stuff you usually only find in commercial spaces. Rogan uses his Rogue Monster Lat Pull Down/Low Row pulley machine for cable action in his workout. He also has the Rogue Monster Grip Triangle and the Rogue Tricep Push Down Attachment.
T-Bar Row
Rogan uses a T-Bar Row from Rogue Fitness to mix up his heavy back work, loading the front post with barbell plates. This machine also has a multi-grip handle, which allows Rogan to switch between wide or narrow grip rows.
Plyo Box
Rogan prefers to use wood plyo boxes to work on box jumps and stepups. His setup includes the Rogue Games Box, which can be adjusted to 3 different heights of 20, 24, or 30 inches, depending on the orientation of the box.

Rogan doesn’t just serve as a UFC commentator—he also practices a variety of marital arts, and is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Taekwondo. His combat sports gym is equipped with plenty of heavy bags in a bag rack system, as well as mats (including wall pads) set up by Fuji Mats. Rogan also has a PowerKube to measure the force of his kicks and punches.
Want something to start your own practice? Start small with a heavy bag, like this one from Fuji.
Cardio Gear
Since Rogan trains like an athlete to stay fit for his martial arts practice, he’s not one to skimp on the the cardio for his fitness plan. He’s got plenty of gear to get sweaty, including the classic Rogue Echo Bike—his “favorite piece of cardio equipment ever,” according to the JRE Library post—a Concept 2 rower, and an Assault AirRunner treadmill.
